094) ASH BLONDE SIDE-PART AG NRFB IN JE HOSTESS GOWN
• This discovery is truly exceptional and wonderfully rare
• Within this collection, there are examples of rare and unusual items. It is likely that you may never have another opportunity to add an item such as this to your collection, so get your bids in!
• This amazing mint Side-Part American Girl will take your breath away. Her gorgeous hair is long and full with the original blue ribbon and factory string intact. The hair is factory mint and so shiny!
• Her Color Magic face is a pink fresh face vinyl with super bright blue eyes, tan brows, full lips and under 10x loop I saw just a hint of paling at jawline
• No earring holes at ears
• She is on the HTF S/L pink non-twist waist body
• She comes dressed in an extremely rare JE which is known as The Hostess Set. One of the unique characteristics of this elusive fashion is that it is hardly ever seen complete with her rare shawl (for whatever reason the shawl is almost always missing)
• This set utilized the fabric from JE Theatre Date and has a vibrant fuchsia satin lining. This also can be seen on page 45 of The Barbie in Japan book.
• Interesting fact is that a well-known Barbie authority was interviewed for a Collector Show “The Missing Piece” and shared that in all the years of collecting this elusive shawl has always managed to escape him. What a treat to find this complete set with accessories in the sealed package which includes gold dimple clutch, drop pearl necklace and gold glittered OT heels. This item has never been seen NRFB in the package (and this could be the first time ever offered NRFB on a dressed doll)
• This set has not appeared in any of the fashion booklets, but is well known by collectors who desire to add this holy grail item to their collection
• Nice wrist tag on wrist and she wears her long white tricot gloves
• Box top is marked Ash Blonde and has some minor shelf wear at edges and some minor creasing at right hand edge of box. Her rare “strap” box liner has a perfect cardboard strap holding her in place, no creases or tears. There is some wear to edge of box corners, inside of box has paper tear which did not penetrate through to box top. Box bottom shows “printed in Japan”
• Also included is her rare black pedestal stand with gold lettering
• This heart-stopping beauty defies description with its unparalleled allure, leaving Barbie collectors with an insufficient array of adjectives to capture her essence
• Suggested $8995-$11995
