SportsCard Central was founded in 1977 by Rick Behar. It has been a leader in the SportsCard industry for over 40 years. In the mid 2000's, Rick was recruited to become an Estate Sale Manager and built one of the leading Estate Sale Companies in the country which led to the opening of a prominent Mid Century Modern Furniture Store. He has since left those businesses and started his own Estate Sale Company, Estate 48, Inc. Estate Sales and Online Auctions. Rick moved the 2 businesses into a showroom in Waterford Michigan where Estate 48 hosts online auctions of Estate contents and Sports Memorabilia. We also hold traditional In Home Estate Sales. Our Yellow and Black Estate 48 Signs can be prominently seen wherever we are holding a sale. For people in Condos or with restrictive HOA's, we offer the online Estate Auction route to bifurcate the "No Estate Sales Allowed" policies in many complexes. We have had 100% success to date with our program to allow restricted homes to liquidate their contents via our auction process with NO Issues. The showroom is scheduled to open later this year with over 7000 SF of Collectibles featuring Graded and Ungraded Sports Cards, Unopened Boxes and packs, TCG Gaming Cards, Game Worn Jerseys, Game Used Bats, NHL GU Hockey Sticks, Game Issued NBA Gear, Rock N Roll, Jazz and other Record Albums, Vintage Comic Books, Fine Art, Lithographs, Entertainment Collectibles: Movie Posters, Rock N Roll Concert Posters, Collectible Bobble Heads & Figurines, Jewelry, Vintage Toys and Games, and other fun collectibles. We have spent 50 years looking at cards and analyzing them. We Buy Collections, and accept (Select Items of Value) on consignment. People choose to sell or consign to us because we make every effort to put their items in front of the eye balls of real collectors. We understand the investment aspect and the turners and burners. All those help make it a vibrant collecting Buying and Selling Space. Sportscards have been a great investment over time. Very little of any significance has gone down in value. We all know what happened with the 80's 90's. But even in that era, there are cards that have found a resurgence. We have been PSA and PSADNA Authorized representatives for almost 20 years. You can find us on the PSA website. However, with the backlog of lower priced submissions, and the extended turnaround time, we have been selling lots of cards that would otherwise be submitted to PSA. Some may be in an upcoming ones. However, we have spent an entire career supplying "Raw" card collectors with their prized possessions. For those of you that were buying in the 1970's - 1990's, you might remember my ads in SCD as "Mr. Non Mint." While Mr. Mint messed up the hobby for a lot of people, We have been show promoters (over 500 Shows). Store owners (SportsCard Central for 30 years) and auctioneers for 35 years. I hope I have been a positive influence over the years. We always appreciate hearing from old customers. We know what we sold, and are happy for everyone that made a GREAT purchase from us. We sold the first PSA 10 1952 Bowman Mickey Mantle Raw for $5000 (around the time PSA started. It's now valued over $1,000,000). (We weren't PSA fans at the beginning).
