It is charged by the Auctioneer to cover Administrative expenses and it goes directly to the Auction house. ***Example: If Bob is the winning bidder on a Table and Chair Set that he bid $100 on, and Buyer's Premium is 10% (10% x $100 = $10.00), Bob would pay $110 for the item, plus any other charges such as GST and/or PST. ***Example: If Bob won a Vehicle for $5,700 and the Buyer's Premium is 10% (10% x $5,700 = $570.00 Buyer's Premium); however, the Buyer's Premium is capped at $500 max. per item/lot so Bob would only pay $500 for the Buyer's Premium and not $570.00, plus any other charges such as GST and/or PST.
